Administrative Roles Overview

Administrative roles are pre-defined sets of permissions that administrators allocate to users, enabling them to perform specific actions in HotDocs Advance.

Overview

Administrative roles enable administrators to control what actions an individual user can perform in Advance. Administrators can assign different types of administrative role to Advance users.

If no administrative role is chosen, Advance will assign the user the default Template User role.

User Roles

The different user roles in Advance, and the actions users allocated those roles can perform, are described below.

Template User

A Template User is the user role assigned by default. A template user can use the templates uploaded to Advance to create work items and download assembled documents. They have permission to perform the following actions:

• Create work items within their assigned work groups
• Create new private work items within their assigned work groups
• Collaborate on work items shared in their assigned work groups
• Open interviews for private work items for which they are the owner
• Rename work items for which they are the owner
• Edit the privacy status of existing work items for which they are the owner
• Download assembled documents for work items in their work groups which are shared or for which they are the owner
• Copy a work item in their work groups which are shared or for which they are the owner
