System Requirements for HotDocs Advance
Before installing HotDocs Advance, make sure your deployment and end user environments meet the necessary system requirements.
Note: the Installation Checklists provide specific details on the installation and configuration of prerequisites.
Deployment Environment
- Internet connection – required to download installation files and verify HotDocs Core Assembly Service installation
Hardware Requirements
- 2 or more processors (2.5 GHz or faster)
- 8GB RAM
- 100GB disk space
Software Requirements
HotDocs Advance
The environment to which you deploy HotDocs Advance must have the following prerequisites installed:
- Microsoft Windows Server:
- Windows Server 2022;
- Windows Server 2019; or
- Windows Server 2016
- Internet Information Services (IIS)
- IIS HttpPlatformHandler Module 1.2
- .Net Framework 4.8 or later
- .Net Core 6.0.x hosting bundle
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or later
- Wildcard TLS certification – required for the domain on which Advance is deployed
- SSL/TLS – the site in IIS on which Advance is deployed must be configured to use HTTPS
- SMTP server – only required for deployments that do not use Active Directory
HotDocs Core Assembly Service
- Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio (x64) – 2015 or later
- .Net Framework 4.8 or later
- Microsoft OLE DB Driver 18 for SQL Server
End users
Minimum screen resolution:
- 1366x768
HotDocs Advance supports the following web browsers:
- Microsoft Edge
- Google Chrome
- Safari
- Mozilla Firefox
Template Authors
Users that create HotDocs templates require the HotDocs Author desktop application. It should be installed after Advance is deployed. Author enables users to create templates and upload them to Advance. See Author system requirements for more information.
HotDocs Developer 11 Compatibility
It is recommended that you upgrade to HotDocs Author when using Advance.
HotDocs Advance has some backwards compatibility with HotDocs Developer 11. HotDocs Developer 11 is a desktop application used to create templates. Templates created using HotDocs Developer 11, and which are compatible with HotDocs Server, can be uploaded to HotDocs Advance.
Accessibility
We do the following to ensure interviews are accessible:
- We make an effort to follow general public standards designed to make web applications accessible and compatible with assistive technology
- Avoid relying solely on colors in the user interface to represent behavior
- Accept bug reports and prioritize fixes for any issues that interfere with a user's ability to interact with the interview using assistive technology
