Integrating HotDocs Advance with iManage
A HotDocs Integration enables Advance to offer additional functionality to organizations who use third-party web applications.
Overview
The integration between HotDocs Advance and iManage enables your users to retrieve answer files from and save answer files and assembled documents to your organization's iManage Work application. This is useful as it offers your organization the option to manage your work in a third-party web application outside of Advance. HotDocs Advance is an iManage Universal Application.
Common Tasks
Among others, the iManage integration enables you to perform the following common tasks:
- Configuring iManage Work to Connect with HotDocs Advance
- Creating a work item
- Saving Assembled Documents to iManage
Workflow
When you create a new work item, you have the option to retrieve an answer file from iManage to use as the initial set of answers. Once users have completed an interview, you can save the assembled documents to your iManage application. You can also choose to save the answer file, enabling future work items to be created with the same data.
Configuring Advance and iManage
When configuring Advance to work with iManage Work 10, your iManage Work administrator must configure your organization's application. An administrator can then enable the iManage integration in the Advance site settings. These two configuration steps enable Advance to connect to iManage.
Using Answer Files from iManage in your Documents
When you create a new work item, you can optionally retrieve an answer file from iManage to use as a set of initial answers for the new work item. This enables you to create new work items based on data stored in iManage Work. When a user opens a new interview, the interview is prepopulated with the answer data from the answer file you retrieved from iManage when creating the work item.
Once a user completes an assembly, they can choose to save their answer file to iManage Work.
Your answer files must use the extension .anx
Saving Documents to iManage
When a user completes an assembly, they can optionally save their assembled documents to iManage Work. This enables your users to save assembled documents from Advance to a specified location in iManage Work.
