Opening a Work Item Interview
Once you create a work item, you can open a work item interview to update your answers and generate new documents. The assembled documents associated with the work item are only updated once you complete an interview.
If you open an interview and then navigate away from the interview page before clicking Finish, Advance saves any edits you make to your answers. In this case, the action bar displays a message alerting you to the unfinished interview in the work item. You can then choose to resume the interview and continue editing, or to abandon the changes and revert to the last assembled version of the documents.
To resume a work item interview
Note: if an administrator deactivates the template used by a work item, you will no longer be able to open interviews for the work item.
- Select a Work group from the Work groups section.
- In the Work Items list, click the Work item you want to open.
- In the Details pane, click Open interview.
- Continue to enter your data then click Finish to assemble the documents.
Now when you view this work item's details pane, you can see the latest assembled documents.
To abandon changes to a work item interview
- Select a Work group from the Work groups section.
- In the Work Items list, click the Work item you want to work on.
- In the Action bar, click Abandon.
- Click Abandon.
The work item reverts to the last completed interview and assembled documents.
If you accidentally open an interview, you can click Finish without making any edits.
