Copying a Template Using "Save As"

If you want to create a copy of a given DOCX template (something we highly discourage), you can do so using the Save As functionality in Microsoft Word.

Before you use Save As, please thoroughly read all the ramifications that can result from this action, as there is no undo for a Save As, and you may lose all the content of an existing template or component file if you are not careful.

To copy a template using "Save As"

  1. Open a DOCX template for editing.
  2. In Microsoft Word, click File > Save As and save a copy of the template to your desired location.
