Creating an Input Mask
If you need an input mask other than those available to you in the Input Mask drop-down list (on the Display tab of the Text Variable Editor), HotDocs enables you to create your own by typing one into the Input Mask box on the My Formats page of the HotDocs Options dialog box.
To Create an Input Mask
- In Workspace Explorer, in the Workspace Explorer taskbar, click Options.
- Click My Formats.
- At the bottom of the Input Mask list, double-click the empty text box; then type the pattern you want to require your template users to follow when they answer the Text variable you want to use with the input mask.
- (Optional) You can use codes to customize the specific characters your template users can type when creating an input mask
The input mask you create here becomes available in the Input Mask drop-down list (on the Display tab of the Text Variable Editor.
