Editing a Source Controlled Template

When you have a version controlled template, you need to check out the template to make it editable.

To edit a source controlled file

1. Open the appropriate workspace.
2. Double-click the template you want edit.
3. The plugin checks out the template from version control and opens it in Word, ready for editing.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Template file opens as read-only

When I try to edit a version controlled template, it opens as a read-only file and when I make it editable and try to save the template, I see an error message stopping me from saving the changes.

Solution

1. Open the appropriate workspace.
2. Select the template you want edit.
3. In the template details pane, click Checkout.
4. You can now edit as normal.
