Generating a New Template Identifier

If you need to make a unique copy of a template you can change the template identifier so HotDocs won't confuse the new copy with the old version.

To generate a new template identifier

  1. Open the Template Properties dialog.
  2. Next to the existing Template Identifier, click the Generate New Template Identifier button .
  3. Click OK.

You can edit a Template Identifier manually if you need to. Template Identifiers must use hexadecimal format (0-9 and A-F).
