Quick Start

If you want to begin quickly with HotDocs Author, you can do no better than to jump into our short tutorials. These tutorials quickly introduce you to the working concepts and vocabulary you need to get up to speed with HotDocs Author.

To access the tutorials

1. Start HotDocs Author by locating and double-clicking the HotDocs Author shortcut on your computer.
2. When Author's Workspace Explorer opens, at the top left, click Workspace > New Workspace.
3. Under Workspace Name, type Tutorials.

The folder path that appears in the Workspace Location represents the default location for your workspaces (editable through the HotDocs Options button on the top right of the Workspace Explorer ribbon). When creating your Tutorials workspace, you should leave the Workspace location value as is, otherwise the Tutorials pane does not appear when you create the Tutorials workspace.

4. Click OK.
5. When the Author Tutorials pane appears, begin by clicking the link for Lesson 1.
