Testing a Component

Performing a test for a specific component allows you to check that component works as you expect it to, so you can fix issues as you go.

To Test a Component

1. Open Component Studio.
2. From the components list, click on the component you wish to test.
3. In the component toolbar, click the Test button. The HotDocs Test Browser then appears.
4. (Optional) At any point while working in the HotDocs Test Browser, you can see how the assembled document would look by clicking the Result tab.
5. (Optional) You can save the interview answers to your local machine for use in future testing of templates and answer intakes by clicking Save Answers.

You cannot test a component that contains an error.
