Using Interview 2 in HotDocs Author

You can test your templates using the new version of the HotDocs interview, Interview 2, directly from HotDocs Author.

Prerequisites

  • HotDocs Author v1.99 or later.

To test a template using Interview 2

  1. Create, edit or open your template as normal.
  2. Select Test to open the template in the test browser.
  3. In the upper right corner of the test window, open the Interview version drop down menu.
  4. Choose the version of the interview you want to use, e.g. Interview 2.

To set the interview version of a template

  1. In Workspace Explorer, select the template.
  2. Select Template Properties.
  3. In the Interview Behavior tab, select the Interview version from the drop down menu.

The setting is saved to the template's properties. When the template is published to HotDocs Advance, the selected version of the interview opens automatically.

Use a test work group to confirm that the template behaves as expected before publishing to other users.
