Install ApacheDS

ApacheDS is an extensible and embeddable directory server. It is required for on-premise installations of HotDocs Hub with user management.

ApacheDS is only required when the User Hub is installed with the HotDocs Hub. For more information about using Hub without User Hub, see Security.

Prerequisites

  • Java Runtime Environment

Download ApacheDS

The latest release of ApacheDS is available from https://directory.apache.org/apacheds/.

Install ApacheDS

To install ApacheDS:

  1. Download ApacheDS.
  2. Run the downloaded ApacheDS installer file.
  3. Click Agree to confirm acceptance of license agreement.
  4. Either accept the default Server Home Directory location or enter a new location.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Either accept the default Server Instances Home Directory location or enter a new location.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Click Browse and select the Java Home directory.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Click Yes to start the ApacheDS service.

Next Steps

ApacheDS is installed. You must now download and run Apache Management Studio.
