Copying answers from an existing work item

If you want to reuse answers from an existing work item, you can use the Copy answers function to create a new work item containing the answer data from another work item.

To copy an existing work item

  1. From the navigation bar or the home page, click Work items.
  2. Click the work item row you want to copy in the Work Items list; the work item becomes highlighted and the Copy answers button becomes enabled.
  3. Click the Copy answers button.
  4. Type a new Work item name.
  5. In the Select template list, click a template.
  6. Click Launch interview; the interview's answer fields display answer data from the copied work item.
  7. Once you have completed the questions in the interview, click Finish.

You are redirected to the details page for the new work item. From the work item details page, you can downloading any documents assembled by completing the interview.
