User Roles
User roles are pre-defined sets of permissions that you allocate to users, enabling them to only perform specific actions in HotDocs Hub.
For example, you would allocate a template uploader role to users uploading templates to Hub from HotDocs AuthorDeveloper.

Overview
User roles enable you to control what actions an individual user can perform in Hub. For example, whether a user can upload templates or create user groups. You can assign several different types of user role to Hub users:
- Tenancy Administrator
- Template Uploader
- Template User
Specific user roles may perform actions that are not available to other roles. For example, Template Users may not upload templates, while Template Uploaders can upload templates. The user roles, and the actions they can perform in Hub, are defined below.

Workflow
You allocate a user role to a user when creating a new user account. You can also edit an existing user's user role on the user details page.
User Roles
The different user roles in Hub, and the actions users allocated those roles can perform, are described below.
Tenancy Administrator
A Tenancy Administrator can administer users, users groups, templates and template groups in Hub. They have permission to perform the following actions:
- Configure the HotDocs Hub
- Create new users
- Edit user details
- Create new user groups
- Edit user groups
- Create new template groups
- Edit template groups
- Assign user permissions to template groups
- Create work items
- Edit all work items
- Relaunch interviews for all work items
- View all work items
- Delete work items created by other users
The Tenancy Administrator also has all the permissions of a Template Uploader and Template User user roles.
Template Uploader
A Template Uploader can upload templates from HotDocs AuthorDeveloper to Hub. They have permission to perform the following actions:
- Upload templates
- View templates they upload
- Perform interview for templates they upload
Template User
A Template User can use the templates uploaded to Hub to create work items and download assembled documents. They have permission to perform the following actions:
- View Template Groups to which they have access
- Create work items
- View their own work items
