Installing ApacheDS

ApacheDS is an extensible and embeddable directory server. You must install ApacheDS for on-premise installations of HotDocs Hub with user management.

Prerequisites

• Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 8 (Windows x86)

Note: you may need to set the location of the 32-bit JRE in your path.

Download ApacheDS

ApacheDS is available from https://directory.apache.org/apacheds/. ApacheDS 2.0.0 M20 (32-bit) is recommended.

To install ApacheDS

1. Download ApacheDS.
2. Run the downloaded ApacheDS installer file.
3. Click Agree to confirm acceptance of license agreement.
4. Either accept the default Server Home Directory location or enter a new location.
5. Click Next.
6. Either accept the default Server Instances Home Directory location or enter a new location.
7. Click Next.
8. Click Browse and select the Java Home directory; typically, this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\{java-version}.
9. Click Next.
10. Click Yes to start the ApacheDS service.
