Assigning permissions for the signing certificate

You must give the HotDocs Hub application pool identity read permissions to the private key of your signing certificate. This enables the Hub to read the thumbprint from the signing key.

To assign read permissions to the signing certificate

Open Manage Computer Certificates.
Navigate to Personal > Certificates.
Right-click the signing certificate.
Select All Tasks > Manage Private Keys.
Select Add.
Enter the name of the user under which the Hub application pool runs; for example, Network Service.
Click OK.
Select Read in the Permissions list.
Click OK.
