Install the HotDocs Web Service
Prerequisites
- HotDocs Server
The HotDocs Web Service Setup executable file is required to install the service. If you do not have this file, please contact your HotDocs Sales representative.
Installation
To install the HotDocs Web Service
- Double-click setup.exe. The HotDocs Web Service Installer opens.
- Click Next.
- The default installation directory for the service is C:\Program Files (x86)\HotDocs Server\HDSWebAPI. To change this location, click Change and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Click Next.
- To automatically set up a website in Internet Information Service (IIS) to host the HotDocs Web Service, select Create a website in IIS.
- By default, the Service will install on Port 80. If you wish to change the port,
- Select the Install under a specified port option; and
- Enter the required Port Number.
- Click Next.
- Click Install.
- Once installation begins, you may receive a Windows User Access Control dialog, prompting for permission to proceed with the install. If this appears, click Yes.
- Click Finish.
Test the Service
To test the service, open a web browser and navigate to http://localhost/HDSWebAPI/. If the service is running, you will see a landing page displaying the HotDocs logo and a Web Service version number.
