DATE - NUMBER (of) YEARS (- Operator)

The DATE - NUMBER (of) YEARS operator calculates a new date value by subtracting the number of years from a DATE you specify.

The - YEARS operator works with a date value, which can be a date expression, a date variable, or the result of a function that returns a date. The number of years to be subtracted can be a number value, which can be a number expression, a number variable, or the result of a function that returns a number.

Operator Description After you drag and drop the operator into the script tab: Expression returns:
DATE - NUMBER (of) YEARS ⟦Date⟧ -  ⟦Number⟧ YEARS Replace ⟦DATE⟧ placeholder with the date value you want to subtract from. Replace ⟦Number⟧ placeholder with the number value you want to subtract. A DATE value.

Example

The expression 'DATEOF ( 11, 20, 2020 ) - 3 YEARS' results in the date value 11/20/2017.
