Filtering a List of Answers

You can add a filter to a Repeated region to decide which sets of answers from the interview HotDocs places into the assembled document as list items.

To filter a list of answers

1. Open a text template for editing.
2. Create a new repeated region or place the cursor inside an existing REPEAT Instruction.
3. In the HotDocs Field Editor, click the Advanced Properties expander.
4. From the Repetition filter computation drop-down, select a computation that returns a true/false value. If an answer in the list doesn't meet the criteria in the computation, HotDocs does not place it with the rest of the answer list.

You cannot select a computation with parameters. HotDocs hides these computations from the drop-down list.

5. Choose when you want HotDocs to filter the list:
   • Sort repetitions; then apply filter – HotDocs performs any sorting instructions first and then filters the list according to the selected computation
   • Apply filter; then sort remaining repetitions – HotDocs first filters the list according to the computation and then performs any sorting instructions
6. (Optional) For new repeated regions, click Add Field.
