HotDocs Core Assembly Service Installation Overview
This document provides an overview of the installation process for the HotDocs Core Assembly Service, including system requirements and configuration information.
Prerequisites
- Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015
- Microsoft .Net Framework 4.8 or later
- Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 or later
- Internet Information Service (IIS) 7 or later, including the following features:

- SSL/TLS
- Feature Delegation
- ASP.Net Server Role
- HTTP Redirection
- SQL Server 2012 or later
- Microsoft OLE DB Driver 18 for SQL Server
The Assembly Service requires a SQL Server user with dbcreator permissions, to create the databases required by the service.
Installation Steps
You must complete the steps below to install and configure the Core Assembly Service:
- Installing the HotDocs Core Assembly Service
- Configuring HotDocs Advance to use the Core Assembly Service
- Configuring the Core Assembly Service to use HotDocs Hub
- (Optional) Configuring the Assembly Service CORS Headers – only required if you installed the HotDocs Core Assembly Service on a domain different to the one on which HotDocs Advance is installed.
- Configuring the Core Assembly Service Application Pool
If the WebDAV Publishing feature of IIS is installed, you will not be able to save the progress of your interview. Please ensure you disable this feature.
