Overview

The Assembly Service is a web application that provides HotDocs' core document assembly functionality. It takes your HotDocs Developer 11 and Author templates, the answer data provided by your users, and assembles a completed document by processing the 'business logic' provided in the template and replacing changeable fields with answer data.

The Assembly Service's functionality is accessed via its Application Programming Interface (API). This API provides a set of methods for assembling HotDocs templates. These methods can be called by other web services, such as HotDocs Hub. You can also use these methods yourself, to integrate document assembly functionality with your own software.

Workflow

You should install the Assembly Service after you install HotDocs Hub.

Licence Key

HotDocs Core Assembly Service requires a license key to run. You must provide this key when installing Core Assembly Services. If you do not have a valid licence key, Core Assembly Service will not function. If your license key has expired, you can update your license key.

Installing the Assembly Service
