The Users section enables you to create and edit user accounts for the HotDocs Hub.

Overview

The HotDocs User Hub is a user management service designed to work with HotDocs Cloud Services, HotDocs Web Services, and other components such as the Template Hub and Interview Service. The User Hub provides access permissions to templates and Interviews as well as other resources that the afore-mentioned services provide.

The User Hub connects to your existing user management system. User Hub uses existing user data to create structured User Groups. In other Hub components, you can use these User Groups to control access to resources. For example, User Groups control access to Templates and Interviews. This means that you do not need to set up separate accounts for your users to connect to HotDocs resources.

Using the Users section, you can:

  • Create new user accounts
  • Edit user accounts
  • Allocate User roles: Tenancy Administrators, Template Uploaders and Template Users

Access Control

Most solutions need to control user access to HotDocs templates stored in the Template Hub. For example, you may wish to stop a user in an IT department from accessing the templates used in a Finance department. The Template Hub provides tools to control access to these resources, by enabling you to assign users to Template Groups. The User Hub checks these permissions and gives access to users based on their assigned Template Groups.
