Opening the Tutorials Pane

You can open the Tutorials pane, both from Workspace Explorer and the HotDocs Author tab.

Prerequisites

• Create a workspace for your tutorials

If you want HotDocs to automatically open the Tutorials pane on Workspace Explorer when you open your Tutorials workspace, then, at the time you create your Tutorials workspace, you must set the Default Location for Workspaces to the default location on your machine that HotDocs provides in the Workspace Location box – e.g., C:\Users\admin\Documents\HotDocs Author.

To open the tutorials pane from Workspace Explorer

• Either open your Tutorials workspace (the Author Tutorials pane appears automatically if you created your Tutorials workspace in accordance with the Important admonition under Prerequisites above), or in the Workspace Explorer Toolbar, click Help > View Author Tutorials

To open the tutorials pane from the HotDocs Author tab

• From Workspace Explorer, select a template; then in the template toolbar, click Edit (the Author Tutorials pane appears automatically if you created your Tutorials workspace in accordance with the Important admonition under Prerequisites above)
• If you previously closed the Author Tutorials pane, in the Word ribbon, click the HotDocs Author tab; then click the Tutorials button

To close the tutorials pane from Workspace Explorer

• In Workspace Explorer,at the top right of the Author Tutorials pane, click the X

To close the tutorials pane from the HotDocs Author tab

• Click the HotDocs Author tab; then click the Tutorials button
