Prerequisites
Before you can use the Upload Plugin to upload
templates, you must install the following items:
- On the server:
- On the development machine:
Configure the Upload Plugin using the Repository
Configuration File (.hdrepoconfig)
Before you can use the Upload Plugin to
upload a template from HotDocs Developer, you need to configure it to
connect to the correct Template Hub URL.
When you upload a template, you need a
URL for HotDocs Developer to connect to the Template Hub. To add the URL
to the plugin's Server List, you must download and run the Repository
Configuration file from the Template Hub you want to connect to. This
file contains all the connection information required to upload a template
to the repository. To download the file, go to the Get Upload
Configuration section of the Template Hub. Double-click the file
to add the server to the Upload Plugin.
To Configure the Plugin
- Open a web browser and navigate to
the Template Hub UI website. Typically, this is located at http://servername/TemplateHub/,
where servername is the name of the machine where you installed the
Template Hub
UI.
- Click Download
Configuration File to download the Repository Configuration
(.hdrepoconfig) file.
- Navigate to the location of the downloaded
.hdrepoconfig file.
- Double-click the .hdrepoconfig
file to open it. It automatically configures the upload location in
the plugin.
To Upload a HotDocs Template using the
Upload Plugin
You can only upload 20 templates simultaneously from
HotDocs Developer. If you choose to upload more than 20 templates at one
time, HotDocs opens the Templates Upload
page in a new browser window and allows you to upload the templates you
selected in batches of 20.
To upload a template from HotDocs Developer
to the Template Hub:
- Open HotDocs Developer.
- In the Library, right-click a template
to upload.
- From the drop-down menu, select Upload
to HotDocs Hub.
- Select the name of the server to which
the template will be uploaded (This is the public facing name you
choose when you installed
the Template Hub UI).
- Click Upload. The web
browser opens the Template Upload page of the Template Hub UI.
- Select the template to upload, using
the check-box next to the template.
- Click Upload Selected.
- Navigate to the Templates
section and you can now see the new template in the Templates list.
