Create a New Root User

If you want to use an Active Directory account for the new root user, see Create a Root User using an Active Directory Account.

You can create a new root user in the Advance root application.

To create a new root user

  1. Log in to the Advance Root Application.
  2. Click the Root users link.
  3. Click the Create a new root UNP User link.
  4. Enter the following details:
    • First name – the first name of the root user
    • Last name – the last name of the root user
    • Email address – the email address of the root user
    • Root role type – the type of root role for the new user; either:
      • None – the user does not have a root role
      • Root admin – the user can perform all actions in root
      • Root user manager – the user can only manage users
      • Root provisioning – the user can only create, deactivate, and delete tenancies
    • Password – the password for the user
    • Confirm password – re-type the password you typed in the previous field
  5. Click the Create button.

The new root user appears in the Root Users list.
