Create a New Root User using an Active Directory account

If you want to create an entirely new user account (non-Active Directory) for the new root user, see Create a New Root User.

You can create a new root user in the Advance root application.

To create a new root user

  1. Log in to the Advance Root Application.
  2. Click the Root users link.
  3. Click the Create a new root UNP User link.
  4. Enter the following details:
    • AD user name – the user name of the Active Directory user you want to be a root admin
    • Root role type – the type of root role for the new user; either:
      • None – the user does not have a root role
      • Root admin – the user can perform all actions in root
      • Root user manager – the user can only manage users
      • Root provisioning – the user can only create, deactivate, and delete tenancies
  5. Click the Create button.

The new root user appears in the Root Users list.
