Opening a Dialog For Editing

Before you can edit a dialog, you need to be able to open it; you can do this either from Component Studio, or (in the case of Linked Dialogs) from the HotDocs Field Editor.

Prerequisites

• Create a Dialog

To use Component Studio to open dialog

1. Open Component Studio.
2. In the Components list to the left, double-click the dialog to open it for editing.
3. Use the dialog editor to customize your dialog.

To use the HotDocs Field Editor to open a linked dialog

1. Open a template.
2. Either add a placeholder field for a variable, and as part of this process, designate a dialog to link your variable to, or select an existing variable with a linked dialog.
3. Click the Edit Component button ().
