Advanced HotDocs Field Editor Tool
The Advanced Field Editor tool is a small popup text box you can use to create and edit HotDocs Fields and their properties when editing a template. You launch the Advanced Field Editor tool by using the keyboard shortcut (default is Ctrl+,) within any of HotDocs Author's editable areas:
- Microsoft Word
- HotDocs Composer
- Prompt fields in the various component editors
- Etc.
Common Tasks
Among others, the Advanced Field Editor enables you to perform the following common tasks:
- Add a placeholder field for an existing variable
- Edit the properties of an existing variable
- Create a conditional region
- Create a repeated region

Everything you can do with the Advanced Field Editor tool is done in the text box that you launch when you press the Ctrl+, keyboard shortcut:
